THE ESSENTIALS OF OUR THEOLOGY
Below you will find an overview of our core and non-negotiable beliefs. We are committed to the gospel being central in our worship gatherings, homes, communities, schools, and places of business. We believe that Jesus Christ has commissioned the church to share the gospel with everyone (Matt. 28:19-20).
Scripture ALone
Our beliefs (theology) are rooted in the 66 books of the Old and New Testament. We believe that the Bible alone is the special revelation of God and trumps all creeds, councils, and traditions. The Bible alone is our authority in both faith (beliefs) and practice (behavior). We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God that is both sufficient and authoritative.
Grace ALone
Grace is not something we earn or merit. Grace is the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, which includes mercy, forgiveness, justification, union with Christ, sanctification, preservation, and glorification of the undeserving. Grace is the unconditional gift of God poured out in fullness according to His will.
Faith ALone
A believer is justified (saved) by faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We reject any addition to faith in the salvation of sinners. We are not saved by faith + works, nor are we saved by works + faith; we are justified by faith alone. Furthermore, we believe saving faith is a gift from God and must be placed in the unique work of Jesus Christ. That is, his substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, glorious ascension, present lordship and intercession, and visible return for His church.
Christ ALone
You cannot save yourself; only Jesus Christ can save you. There is no other savior and no other way to the Father. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Christ alone saves, and He does so apart from works or perceived goodness. It is the mission of the church to preach Christ to the nations.
For the Glory of God ALone
We were created and saved for the glory of God. The primary purpose of humanity is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We are not saved for ourselves, but as a testimony to the goodness and grace of God. In the end, no one will be able to boast in himself or herself, but only in the God who saves wretched sinners. Believers are servants of Christ who seek to glorify the Triune God (Father, Son, and Spirit) in their homes, schools, work places, and communities.
